Native English Teacher's Union - Chungcheong (Preparatory): Stop the Show! Children are not politics.
School is hard. It is even harder if you are a sexual or racial minority in Korea. The Native English Teacher's Union branch in Chungcheong stands in solidarity with students in their rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We oppose the Chungcheonnam-do Provincial Council's plan on abolishing the Chungnam Student Human Rights Ordinance. We condemn in the harshest of terms the targeting of LGBTQ+ students in Chungnam public schools. Children are not a political tool.
The Native English Teacher's Union in Chungcheong encourages the Chungnam Provincial Council to not only oppose the abolition of such Ordinance, but also to expand legal protections of students in their rights to freedom of speech, petition, assembly, appearance, and a safe environment to learn.
Let's create an equal Chungcheongnam-do for us all.

학교는 힘듭니다. 한국에서 성소수자이거나 소수 인종이면 더 힘들죠. 민주일반노조 원어민강사노조 충청권은 학생들이 살아가며 자유를 찾고 행복을 추구할 권리에 연대합니다. 우리는 충남학생인권조례를 폐지하려는 충청남도의회의 계획에 반대합니다. 우리는 충남의 공립학교에서 이루어지는, 성소수자 학생들에 대한 공격을 소리 높여 규탄합니다. 아이들은 정치의 도구가 아닙니다.
민주일반노조 원어민강사분회 충남지회는 충청남도의회에게 촉구합니다. 조례의 폐지를 반대하고, 학생들의 언론, 청원, 집회, 외모, 그리고 안전하게 학습할 수 있는 자유에 대한 법적 보호를 확대하시기 바랍니다. 우리 모두에게 평등한 충청남도를 만들어 갑시다.
