내용필수 웹에디터 시작 > > > The Chungcheong branch of the Native English Teacher’s Labor Union held their inaugural meeting on December 10, 2023 at 1:00 at the Minchon Humanities Library in the central city of Cheonan. The Chungcheong branch covers the areas of Chungnam, Chungbuk, Sejong Special City, and Daejeon City. Six English teachers from around the four regions gathered together with support from the KGLU Seoul staff for a special lecture on the Labor Standards Act of the Republic of Korea in English. Teachers from various public schools and private hagwons discussed the laws surrounding wages, vacation time, breaks, immigration, and housing rights. > > We were honored to be joined by Hwang Hwan-cheol, 2022 candidate for Cheonan Mayor under the Justice Party. Mr. Hwang introduced the basic labor rights to the foreign teachers, as well as spoke about the importance of labor unions for the working class in South Korea.
